So I am leaning towards doing USA's and seeing how I stand up to the other girls and then maybe if I am not in the poorhouse I may do Nats this year.  It is hard to even think about dieting right now but it is crazy but I am really missing the stage.  You would not believe what a rush it is to be on stage and be in a building filled with people who look like you or at least are in some way in love with the sport.  This is a truly great feeling when you live in NC where no one looks like you.  It would be cool if there were more female bodybuilders but at the same time I really like being different.  It makes you kinda feel special....lol...I am trying to continue to add more and more content to my site.  I would love to continue to get feedback about what you think I should have or what would be cool on my site.  Thanks for reading....

January 22, 2010

Ah the new year.  New Year's resolutions, people comitting themselves to improving their health by dieting and exercising more.  I think it's great!  It means for a busy time at work, and makes my training a bit more challenging at the gym, but I think it's great that for a brief few weeks, people are focussed on their health.

Gym memberships, like so many other things in our lives these days, come with contracts written by lawyers.  To cancel some of these contracts can be an outright nightmare.  In our facility there are no contracts so everything is much simpler on the sales side.  Having recently moved to be closer to work, I am now too far away form my old gym to realistically have it as an option for my training.  With no traffic the round trip is in excess of an hour and ten minutes.  I simply do not have the luxury of this much extra time every day, or multiple times a day for that matter.  So I looked at my contract to learn the cancellation policy related to relocation.  The arbitrary number the gym came up with is 30 miles, which is as good a number as any I suppose.  The problem is, I moved 26 miles away from the gym.  Too far away to go to the club, but too close to cancel.  That is a real problem.

I will be sending an email over to them later today to attempt to cancel, though this will be my third attempt to cancel.  I could really use the $700 plus that this membership (that I can't use) will cost me this year.  I could use it to prepare for this year's competitions.  I am hopeful that the general manager will be flexible in his interpretation of the "too far away" clause in my contract.  This is yet to be seen.  I will let you know how it turns out though for sure!

Anyway, back to work, look forward to seeing all of you out at an NPC or IFBB event this year.  Make sure you stop by and say Hi!

January 21, 2010 - What next: USA or Nationals?

As I approach the 2010 competition season the biggest question on my mind is what is my next step in my pursuit of my dream of one day becoming a professional bodybuilder.  This is the most common question I am asked and it seems that everyone has an opinion of what the "right" next step is.

I planned and trained for three years before entering Jr. Nationals in 2009, and while I planned for a win, I was humbled to have done so well in my first national competition particularly in light of such accomplished competitors.

So I throw this question out to each of you.  In my mind the next proper competition for me is the NPC USAs in July, or NPC Nationals in October.  I suppose I should also consider the IFBB North American Championships in September as well.  So tell me what you think I should do next and why you feel it is the next logical step for me.  Email me at: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Thanks Everybody!

Another long day at work.  Of course, like so many of us, I work at a gym, but in sales.  I left pt from just being burnt out.  It is crazy now.  January brings in tons of reolutions, but I really enjoy it.  I love getting people addicted to working out, because frankly if I didn't discover weight training, I am not sure where I would be now or what I would do.  I work in the super gym. The place is so big it is like the size of a mall, but it is cool.  Met a lot of cool people and I am frankly really happy to have a job in this economy.  Worked out late tonight, but I was strong.  Back day which is one of my faves, but damn I still have to really watch it cause I have jacked up my back so I am the poster child for safety equipment.  LOL...Made it home in time to watch Jersey Shore though.  I love watching craziness...DO these people get in fights everyday or what..But oh well funny..Guess I need to get to bed.  12 hour shift tomorrow.  UGh..
